Metro Heads to LAXcation in Florida What’s better than getting out of the cold New York/New Jersey weather in November and heading to Florida? Nothing you think? Well how about this...Metro lacrosse 2012s are heading to sunny Naples, Florida on November 20-21 for the de Beer IWLCA President’s Cup tournament. What’s so impressive about this tournament is that it is being held in conjunction with the IWLCA Annual Coaches Meeting in November, which means that this tournament is going to be the most highly recruited tournament of the year! Metro feels fortunate to not only be sending one, but two full teams to this tournament in just 3 weeks! By making the commitment to attend this tournament, not only with Metro ladies be heading to beautiful Florida to play on perfect manicured fields and have access to Sun-n-Fun water Park, they will have the opportunity to be scouted by more college coaches than they ever have been! We wish you luck Metro 2012s! |

Metro Is Extremely Proud to Announce... Metro is extremely proud to announces that Sally Jentis (Metro Blue 2011) was chosen as ESPN RISE Girls' Top 20 ON THE RISE. Sally, who plays both midfield and defense for Ridgewood, was chosen to ESPN Rise as being one of the top defenders in the nation. Sally is a very valuable player for all the teams she plays with, including her Ridgewood high school team, which won it's first state championship for the first time last season, and her Metro Blue 2012 team. Sally was also selected to the U-19 National Team as a defender. We are so very proud of Sally and wish her lots of luck in her senior year at Ridgewood and with her future as a Gator at the University of Florida. |

Proud Of The Princeton 7 v 7 Champions Seven of our very own Metro 2013s competed in the Princeton University Tiger Challenge 7 v 7. The players were put in the toughest bracket and had an extremely successful day. They beat highly competitive teams, such as Ultimate, Tri-State, Thunder Lax and South Jersey Select. Their only loss of the day was to Ridgewood; they lost 7-6. This phenomenal record advanced these girls to the playoffs where they played and beat PA Express and Ultimate 2012. These two victories advanced the girls to the championship game, where they were not discouraged to compete against Ridgewood for the second time of the day. The outcome of this day was different, and these 2013 girls came up with the victory to gain the title of tournament champions! We are so very proud of these 7, Hayley Shaffer, Anna Vitton, Virginia Annaheim, Lauren Oberlander, Elizabeth Cusick, Heidi Annaheim, Stephanie Carr and Hannah Reader for their outstanding play at the Princeton Tournament! We are also very proud of all the other Metro girls who attended this tournament and continue to make lacrosse priority in the off season! Great work ladies! |
