Meet the Coaches:

 

Coach ML McKee
___ Mary-Lynne McKee is the owner and director of Metro Lacrosse Club. She is also currently the head coach of the “Magic” rising sophomore team. Coach McKee has been nationally recognized for her work with young women in the game of lacrosse over many years. A former high school coach of 19 All-Americans, she amassed a win-loss record of 226-23-7, and numerous championships in her fourteen years at Suffern High School (1984-1997). During that time, additional coaching assignments included; Empire State Games (two years as head coach of the Adirondack team and one year with Hudson Valley), US Lacrosse Youth Festival coach; and US Lacrosse National Tournament Team coach for seven summers. Coach McKee is the first woman to be inducted into the Hudson Valley Lacrosse Hall of Fame. She holds a BS in Physical Education and Health, and received her Masters in P.E./Coaching and Administration from Montclair State University. Using her strong background in sports mechanics, she developed the highly successful “Apex” instructional programs with “Super Sticks” and “Super Shots” programs training players year round. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of three. Coach McKee founded the Metro Lacrosse Club in 1999.



Coach Bonnie Sullivan

Bonnie Sullivan (rising senior coach and college liaison) graduated Suffern High School as an All-American only to continue as a four year starter at George Mason University. Graduating in 1999 with All-American and 1st team All-CAA honors, Bonnie moved into coaching giving two years to James Madison University, reaching the Final Four in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, losing to Princeton in the semi-finals. She coached 5 collegiate All-Americans on that team. Her 2001 James Madison squad were CAA champions and lost by 1 goal to UMD in the quarter-finals of the NCAA tournament. Coach Sullivan played for the Maryland Thunder, the first professional women's lacrosse exhibition game in 2001 at the Capital Center in Washington, D.C. She currently works per diem at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell as a registered nurse on the labor & delivery unit. Bonnie has been a prominent part of the Metro staff since 1999. Coach Sullivan resides in Suffern, New York with her husband Dan, their children Caiden, Nevin and a little one on the way.

Coach Kelly Lephart

Kelly Lephart (coach of Metro Magic rising junior team) graduated Niskayuna High School as an All-American lacrosse player and continued her career as a four year starter at George Mason University, graduating in 2000. Her collegiate playing honors include National Academic All- American and co-captain her senior year while helping guide her team to a top 15 ranking. Post college Kelly coached for two years at Colorado College while receiving her Masters in Education. She helped lead Colorado College to their second appearance in the NCAA tournament while coaching five players to All-American status. Kelly has a passion for the game and continues to coach at various camps through out the country. Kelly has been an integral part of Metro for the past five years in the office and out on the field. Kelly's knowledge and appreciation for the game of lacrosse is invaluable. Kelly resides in Niskyayuna with her husband & former professional hockey player Mike Lephart, and their children Chloe and Riley.

Helen May McCutcheon

(Assistant Coach of Metro Magic 2016 Team) A graduate of Chatham High School, Helen was a two year varsity letter winner on the women's basketball team and a four year varsity starter on the women's lacrosse team. Helen graduated in 2007 as a first-team All American, All- State and All-Conference player in her senior year. She also received All Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore, First team All-Area and Second team All-Conference as a junior. Chatham made the State Sectional Semi Finals 2006. She scored 126 goals in four years at Chatham, assisting on 92, and picked up 74 ground balls as a senior. Helen played for Metro Magic from 2003-2006 and was named First Team All-Galaxy her junior and senior summer seasons. After two successful years at the University of Maryland, including an NCAA quarter finals appearance in 2008, an ACC Championship title in 2009, and a Final Four appearance in 2009, she recently transferred to Loyola to become a Greyhound where she will finish her two seasons of eligibility in her junior and senior years.

2009 (Freshman): ALC Academic Honor Roll...Played in two games, wins over Lafayette (2/18) and Mount St. Mary's (3/3).


HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB

Five-time letter winner at Kent Place School (four in lacrosse, one in swimming)...Scored 23 goals as a freshman...As a sophomore, named First Team All-Conference after leading her team with 49 goals and 18 assists...Scored 42 goals and 10 assists in her junior campaign...Led her team to the 2007 Union County Tournament.Final...Ended her senior season with 35 goals and 22 assists...In 2008, named First Team All Union County and Second Team Prep...Led her team to victory in the Union County Tournament in 2008... Played for the Metro Lacrosse Club...Named Second Team All-Galaxy in 2006...Named First-Team All-Galaxy in 2007...Received the Metro Foundation Scholarship for her commitment, participation and leadership in 2008...Ranked in Sports Illustrated Takkle Top 100 "America's Best High School Lacrosse Players."

Katie Scheroder


Katie Scheroder

(Coach of Metro Magic 2014 Team) As the varsity coach at MKW, Katie Scheroder bring a wealth of knowledge and depth to Metro Lacrosse. Her prior coaching experiences include: Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Villa Walsh, '07-'09; Middle School Lacrosse Coach at Delbarton '06; Building Blocks Lacrosse Coach '08-'09; Drew University Lacrosse Camp Counselor '99-'00. Katie was also a gifted lacrosse player holding honors such as being a part of the Roanoke College Lacrosse Team, captain and MVP at Oak Knoll School (graduated 1998), All County, All Conference, and All Prep. Katie was also selected to the Garden State North Lacrosse Team 1997, 1998. After teaching at Delbarton High School for 3 years, Katie moved down the road to MKA where she teaches Spanish. Kaite resides in Hoboken, New Jersey with her husband Scott.

High School:

A 2007 graduate of Shaker High School in Latham, NY, Abby earned seven Varsity letters; three in soccer, four in lacrosse. She earned Suburban Council All-Stars First Team honors all four years, was named to the Albany Times-Union All-Star First Team as a freshman, junior and senior, earned All-Area First Team mention from the Troy Record as a senior, and was an All-America Honorable Mention as a junior and senior. Following her senior season, she also participated in the Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Classic.

Loyola University Maryland Career:

2008 (Freshman): Starting every game, Abby capped her first season of collegiate lacrosse with IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team honors. She led the team and was 10th in the BIG EAST in assists (15), was second on Greyhounds in goals (35), points (50), and third on team with 28 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. Abby had eight multi-goal games during the season and earned WomensLacrosse.com National Rookie of the Week and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors during the season.

2009 (Sophomore): Abby was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team after leading the team with 46 draw controls and finishing second on the Greyhounds with 32 goals and 48 total points. She was also tied for third on the team with 16 assists. Abby started all 17 games in the midfield and scored at least one point in all but one. Her 46 draw controls rank sixth in Loyola single-season history. After two seasons, she is 21st all-time at Loyola with 74 career draw controls


 

Lonnie Sarnell (Goalie Coach) graduated from Yale in 2006 where she played lacrosse for four years and earned a degree in psychology.   As a goalkeeper, she led the Ivy and ranked second in the NCAA with a 6.41 GAA in 2005.  That year, she also led the Ivy League in save percentage (.592).   In 2004, Sarnell ranked 12th in the NCAA in GAA (8.39).  She was a member of the 2003 Yale team that secured the Ivy Championship and made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.  For her career, Sarnell appeared in 40 games while helping the Bulldogs to a .681 winning percentage.  In 2006, she was named to the IWLCA Academic honor roll.   Prior to Yale, the Short Hills native played with Metro for three years and was a four-year letter winner and a team captain at Millburn High School.   Sarnell is currently the assistant lacrosse coach at Drew University. 


Lisa Savage Negvesky (Coach of Metro Magic 2015 Team) is a former Metro player, and member of the Lakeland/Panas Varsity lacrosse team where she was a four year All-Section and All-League player, and was named All-American as a senior. She was also a recipient of the Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award her junior year. Lisa continued her career at Rutgers University, where she was a 2 time co-captain of the Scarlet Knights lacrosse team. In 2005 she was inducted to the National College Athlete Honor SocietySavage was also a two time recipient of the IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll and was also named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star for three straight years. Lisa was a graduate assistant for the Scarlet Knights in 2006 due to a concussion that ended her playing career. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2005 with a BS in Psychology. She graduated from Rutgers Graduate School of Education in 2006 with a Masters in Special Education and Elementary Education. Lisa currently is a teacher in the Summit School District, NJ. She is also beginning her first year as the Varsity head coach for Kent Place School, Summit, NJ.


Colleen O'Keefe (Assistant Coach of Metro Magic 2014 Team) graduated from Oak Knoll in Summit in 2004 where she played attack for the Royals and was an All-American, all state, all division, and all prep lacrosse player and named Oak Knoll’s MVP. Attended James Madison University her freshmen year and then transferred to Loyola College her sophomore year. Was a starter each year at Loyola and earned All American Regional honors, selected to the All Big East Team and invited to the North South game. Led the Greyhounds in assists her sophomore and senior year and was selected captain in 2009.


Kristen McCarthy (Coach of Metro Magic 2016 Team) graduated from Suffern High School in 2002, where she played on the Mountie defense, earning All-Section and All League Honors. Kristen then went on to play field hockey at Quinnipiac University. She was a four year starter for the Quinnipiac Field hockey team, awarded with MVP of Offense for three seasons and the NEC Honor Roll for four seasons. After finishing four seasons with field hockey, Kristen joined the Quinnipiac Lacrosse team for two seasons. She became an asset to the defense and saw action in almost every game. McCarthy was honored by The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association for her GPA. Kristen graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Masters in Elementary Education. This past spring, she was the assistant junior varsity lacrosse coach for Suffern High School and is presently teaching third grade in the Bronx.


Katie De Vito (Assistant Coach of Metro Magic 2013 Team) was a High School All-American lacrosse player and participated on the Girl's US Lacrosse National Tournament Team for Coach McKee. She is among the top 10 all-time leading scorers, in both goals and assists, for George Mason University. Coach De Vito was the team captain her senior year and a two-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Scholar Athlete. In 2001, she was selected for the Second Team All-CAA as well as the CAA All-Tournament Team. Coach De Vito went on to earn a Masters Degree in Special Education and is currently employed as Head of the Reading and Writing Department at York Preparatory School in New York City. She resides in Oradell, New Jersey with her husband, Dave, who played lacrosse for the University at Albany , and their two Italian Greyhounds.


Crysti Foote graduated as one of Notre Dame’s most decorated lacrosse players. A two-time All-American, Foote was named the NCAA Female Attack Player of the Year as a senior after leading her team with 114 points (74 goals, 40 assists). That same year, she was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, presented annually to the top female lacrosse player in the country.

Serving as team captain in her senior year, the 2006 Big East Attack Player of the Year led the Fighting Irish to the NCAA Final Four.

After graduating from Notre Dame in 2006 with a business degree, Foote pursued her coaching career at Metro and continued on collegiately at Drew University and Colombia University. She now has returned to school in pursuit of a degree in Guidance Counseling. Foote is the Head coach of Westfield Blue Devil Elite team and coaches at Madison High School.

Foote also brings international experience. She had been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2005; bronze medal winners in the 2009 World Cup.
