Meet the Coaches:

 

___ Mary-Lynne McKee (coach of Metro Magic 2011 Team) has been nationally recognized for her work with young women in the game of lacrosse. A former High School coach of 19 All-Americans, she amassed a win-loss record of 226-23-7, and numerous championships. Recent coaching assignments include USWLA National Tournament team, Empire Games Coach, and US Lacrosse Youth Coach. In 1992 she was chosen New York State "Coach of the Year" and in 1999 served as a selector for the under 19 U.S. Squad.  She is a presenter at the National US Lacrosse Convention.  Coach Mckee is the first woman to be inducted into the Hudson Valley Lacrosse Hall of Fame.  She founded the Metro Lacrosse Club in 1999. She is the mother of four children.


Bonnie Sullivan  (coach of Metro Magic 2009 Team) was a four year starter at George Mason University, graduating in 1999 with All-American and 1st team CAA honors. She coached 2 years at James Madison, reaching the Final Four in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, losing to Princeton in the semi-finals. She coached 5 collegiate All-Americans on that team. Her 2001 James Madison squad were CAA champions and lost by 1 goal to UMD in the quarter-finals of the NCAA tournament. Coach Sullivan played for the Maryland Thunder, the first professional women's lacrosse exhibition game in 2001 at the Capital Center in Washington, D.C. She currently works per diem at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell as a registered nurse on the labor & delivery unit. Coach Sullivan resides in Bergen County New Jersey with her husband Dan, their son Caiden & a little one on the way.

Kelly Lephart (coach of Metro Magic 2010 Team) graduated Niskayuna High School as an All-American lacrosse player and continued her career as a four year starter at George Mason University, graduating in 2000. Her collegiate playing honors include National Academic All- American and co-captain her senior year while helping guide her team to a top 15 ranking. Post college Kelly coached for two years at Colorado College while receiving her Masters in Education. She helped lead Colorado College to their second appearance in the NCAA tournament while coaching five players to All-American status. Kelly has a passion for the game and continues to coach at various camps through out the country. Kelly has been an integral part of Metro for the past five years in the office and out on the field. Kelly's knowledge and appreciation for the game of lacrosse is invaluable. Kelly resides in Niskyayuna with her husband & former professional hockey player Mike Lephart, and their children Chloe and Riley.

 

 
Lonnie Sarnell (goalie coach) graduated from Yale in 2006 where she played lacrosse for four years and earned a degree in psychology.   As a goalkeeper, she led the Ivy and ranked second in the NCAA with a 6.41 GAA in 2005.  That year, she also led the Ivy League in save percentage (.592).   In 2004, Sarnell ranked 12th in the NCAA in GAA (8.39).  She was a member of the 2003 Yale team that secured the Ivy Championship and made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.  For her career, Sarnell appeared in 40 games while helping the Bulldogs to a .681 winning percentage.  In 2006, she was named to the IWLCA Academic honor roll.   Prior to Yale, the Short Hills native played with Metro for three years and was a four-year letter winner and a team captain at Millburn High School.   Sarnell is currently the assistant lacrosse coach at Drew University. 

 

Lisa Savage (coach of Metro Magic 2012 Team) is a former Metro player, and member of the Lakeland/Panas Varsity lacrosse team where she was a four year All-Section and All-League player, and was named All-American as a senior.  Savage was also a recipient of the Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award her junior year.  Savage continued her career at Rutgers University, where she was a 2 time co-captain of the Scarlet Knights lacrosse team.  In 2005 she was inducted to the National College Athlete Honor Society.  Savage was also a two time recipient of the IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll and was also named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star for three straight years.  Savage was a graduate assistant for the Scarlet Knights in 2006 due to a concussion that ended her playing career.  Savage graduated from Rutgers University in 2005 with a BS in Psychology.  She graduated from Rutgers Graduate School of Education in 2006 with a Masters in Special Education and Elementary Education.  Savage currently is a teacher in the Summit School District, NJ, where she also serves as the Assistant Varsity lacrosse coach.

 

Colleen O'Keefe - one of Loyola's keys to offensive success ... hard and accurate shot ... composed player ... hard worker ... encourages her teammates. 2006 Season: Appeared in 20 games at James Madison ... scored six goals and tallied two assists ... picked up five groundballs ... recorded four draw controls and two caused turnovers. At Oak Knoll: Played lacrosse, basketball and field hockey ... captained the lacrosse team ... named an all-American, all-state, all-division and all-prep in lacrosse ... holds career points record with 324 points with 201 goals and 123 assists ... named Oak Knoll's MVP. Personal: The daughter of Andrew and Anne O'Keefe, Colleen Mary O'Keefe was born November 28, 1985 ... has six siblings; Katie (26), Bridget (19), Kyle (16), Erin (14), Sean (13) and Owen (8) ... Bridget is a freshman on the Loyola squad ... dad played lacrosse at Roanoke, was a member of the 1978 national championship team and a two-time all-American ... intends to major in communications.

 

Kristen McCarthy recently graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s degree in History and her Masters in Elementary Education. Kristen was a four year starter for the Quinnipiac Field hockey team, awarded with MVP of Offense for three seasons and the NEC Honor Roll for four seasons. After finishing four seasons with field hockey, Kristen joined the Quinnipiac Lacrosse team for two seasons. She became an asset to the defense and saw action in almost every game. McCarthy was honored by The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association for her abilities in the classroom. Currently, Kristen is residing in Suffern, NY and teaching 3rd grade in the Bronx.

 

Ali Rogers graduated from Georgetown University in 2007 where she was a member of their highly competitive Division I women's lacrosse team. Nationally recognized as one of the top NCAA programs, the Hoyas amassed an impressive array of athletic and scholastic honors throughout her career, including three Big East titles, three NCAA tournament bids, and Big East academic accolades. Rogers excelled on the defensive end of the field during her tenure on the Hilltop and was selected to participate in the Senior All-Star North/South game following the 2007 season. She also received Big East Academic All-Star honors all four years. A high school All-American, Rogers earned a place on the United Stated Under-19 team roster and is also a former Metro Magic player! Additionally, Rogers works extensively as a coach and coordinator for lacrosse camps, clinics, and tournaments, recently coaching the Virginia Cardinals youth team. She is currently working as an executive assistant/ junior paralegal for Highbridge Capital Management, LLC in New York City.
