The goal of this year-round program is to provide instruction and guidance to players looking to compete at the top levels of the game. Many of these players are training with the goal of playing at the collegiate level in the future. Membership is determined by annual try-outs which are held in December.

Hello Metro Family!
As we enter Memorial Day Weekend, one of the best weekends for college lacrosse, we would like to highlight the amazing Metro Magic alumni who will be participating in the NCAA Division I and III Final Fours. A few of them will be finishing their four years of dedication towards the game. We would like to take the time to share their accomplishments as they head to Philadelphia for the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

Division I
University of North Carolina
Katrina Dowd (Coach)

After beginning her coaching career at Syracuse, Katrina joined the Tar heels in 2013. In her first year she helped the Tar heels win the 2013 National Championship in a nail biter against the University of Maryland. Taking on the responsibilities of offensive coordinator and draw specialist, Katrina has helped the Tar Heels become one of the biggest threats in the NCAA. We wish you the best of luck this weekend Coach!
Lindsay Scott (A)
Throughout her time at UNC Lindsay has overcome a lot of adversity. Pushing through two bad injuries she has proven that nothing can hold this Tar heel back! In her senior season Lindsay has taken on the roll of being the brains on the attacking end. She is a patient and strategic attacker. She has contributed this season with 8 goals and 2 assist.
Sarah Scott (D)
Sarah was a pleasure to have in the Metro program. It has been an honor to watch her grow into a fundamental part of the Tar heel defense. It is easy to say Sarah has earned the title of the “work horse” on the field. In her time at UNC she has proven to be a threat in between the restraining lines. She leads the school record in draw controls with 75 in 2014. In her senior year she has recorded 43 draw controls, 14 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. We are excited to see the hustle and effort she will put in this weekend!
Sammy Jo Tracy (A)
After missing the 2014 season with an injury, Sammy Jo has made an amazing comeback in the 2015 season. She has become an integral part of the Tar heels attack. Sammy Jo is the 2nd leading scorer for the Tar heels. This year she has accumulated 37 goals and 5 assists! Watch out for #13 this weekend! Her style of play is something our younger players could all learn from.

Duke University
Maura Schwitter (D)

In a short period time Maura has become one of the most relentless defenders for the Blue Devils. As a sophomore she has accumulated 23 ground balls, 15 draw controls, and 11 caused turnovers. She will most certainly be someone to watch out for this weekend.
Hayley Schaffer (D)
Appearing in 11 games this season, with 3 starts, Hayley has used every second to her advantage. In only her sophomore year at Duke she has helped the Blue Devils by contributing 3 goals, 4 ground balls and 1 caused turnover. As a young player in the program she has been a hard worker and will continue to grow into an integral part of the Blue Devil’s attack.

Division III
Franklin & Marshall
Paige Moriarty (A)

When you look at F&M’s statistics it would be hard to believe that Paige is only a freshman! In her short time as a Diplomat, Paige has been on of the biggest attacking threats of the program. Currently leading in points (84) she has quickly become a marked number for opposing teams. Paige is the leader in assist for the diplomats at an astonishing 44 assists on the season. Not only is she a play maker, but also a finisher! She is the 3rd leading scorer on the team with 40 goals. We are excited to watch her dominate this weekend in the Division III NCAA championship!
